Happy Spring Equinox to you all in the Northern Hemisphere!
What a wonderful day it is to reveal the beauty of the garden and our home we share with you as The Greenhouse Spa Retreat.

It's been more than a decade since Dan and I, with help in the garden from Linda, his mum dreamt and cultivated a haven for you to nurture yourself in nature... Today it makes me smile so much that our hard work has paid off.

Thank you Mother Nature for bringing back Spring, blossom, flowers blooming, trees budding, birds twittering, Beatles daring paths, Tinks sun bathing on the slate slabs.... Blissful.

We wanted to share the feeling of this beautiful homegrown oasis with you because it felt so nourishing for us.

We respect all beings, from the tiny ant to the elephant, from the snake to a kangaroo... Saving plants, trees, people's freebies and castoffs meant we were able to upcycle and dare to be different, all whilst treading gently on this earth, respecting others and wanting Liberty for all.

Come and join us ☘️

We are marking 3 years of taking over complete stewardship of this wonderful garden this month and it's sure been a massive learning curve being Head Gardener. Luckily Linda planted it so thoughtfully that I'm learning what needs some TLC and what loves being left to their own devices! So many changes have occurred, not only due to the seasons but being able to cultivate and garden with Dan by my side, whilst balancing our Spa and Glamping onsite. Thank you to everyone that comes to enjoy @thegreenhousesparetreat Spring certainly is my favourite season here 💓

Behind the scenes Dan and I work creating the perfect getaway from fresh linen dried in the vegetable garden to twinkly pixie lights guiding your way at night.

We absolutely love that we have been able to save his family home and garden for you all to enjoy and experience along with us on your spa or glamping stay.

Dan's parents, John and Linda planted everything you see in the garden from just a plain field 39 years ago.
Nothing was here other than grass, the foresight his parents had to plant trees for future generations is remarkable.

We welcome you to sit a while immersed in the garden, leaving only your footsteps whilst nurturing yourself in nature 💚

Spring garden @thegreenhousesparetreat

Whilst it's Chelsea Flower Show we have really noticed the glorious blooms here... The garden has taken off and become our own Cornish Jungle with more wild flowers than we have ever seen before

💚

'Lowarth' means Garden in Cornish, which was the language spoken here in Cornwall.

Dan and I love finding out about our local heritage and using Cornish words to depict our little slice of heaven and share with you.

The Lowarth was grown from a grass field over the last 37years into this paradise by his parents and now we are the custodians of this gorgeous place.

So much love was put into everything that has been planted here... thanks goes out to his mum and dad 💓

It's utterly beautiful, nurturing your mind, body and soul.

Come to visit and unwind by being at one with nature 🌱

'Maple' our gorgeous upcycled quarry wagons 🍁

Sits nestled under the woodland walk trees, looking out amongst the beautiful foliage.

This area of the garden is planted to showcase plants that grow perfectly in shaded areas or North facing gardens 🌱 #inspiration

We designed Maple with everything in mind for comfort and relaxation.

From the inside out, Dan and I have upcycled all we could... from the huge sunroom window that looks out onto the fields, the kitchen walls made of Maple wood from a primary school floor, to the outside cladding made of recycled CD cases!

Creating Maple was a labour of love.

We trust you will visit Maple and experience the wholesome and nurturing space

Autumn colours of nature are so beautiful @thegreenhousesparetreat

The Ginkgo Biloba is a species of tree native to China... The species is over 290 million years old!

We are lucky enough to wonder every day at it's beauty, connect with nature and our forgotten past.

It's fascinating to see the Ginkgo's leaves change through the seasons... I feel the texture is like succulents, with a large fan shape full of veins.

They turn from tiny heart shapes into a gorgeous lime green leaf in the Spring to darker green in the Summer sun to these golden yellow in Autumn.

Keep your eyes peeled when you are amongst the trees, watch out for a special and rare moment to take in the incredible ancient Ginkgo Biloba 💚

Join us for your memorable moments this Autumn 🍁

Summer time has really sprung at #TGSR

The colours in the morning light are so vibrant, rich and magical 🌟

Checkout the view from #thekara 🌈

Dan and I are working hard to get The Kara (our event space) back up and running after being used in the pandemic as our amazing workshop...

From clearing the misfit objects, finding them new homes, lots of wood from this year's fallen trees has been stacked so now we have space to have a proper summer clean!

The Kara has always been a special place for us as Dan built it for our wedding with the idea of hosting classes, workshops and events to our guests so they too can marvel in the middle of this spectacular garden 🌱

The time has come to get back on track with opening once more 💚

We look forward to welcoming you soon... Watch this space.

Introducing Dan...

If you don't recognise him yet here is a little insight to help you understand how he has helped create #TGSR (#thegreenhousesparetreat )

Dan is a man that is self taught in building, electrics, carpentry and design!

When a new project at The Greenhouse is up for grabs he is always ready to work out a plan of action, developing the build from research to reality.

Without him The Greenhouse Spa Retreat would still be just a painting

💚

🏕️ From the glamping pods to the treatment rooms, The Kara and Solar arrays he works hard, whatever the challenge to make our Retreat the perfect experience for guests to enjoy.

If I need something done, Dan is the man 😄

Shout out for all his positive energy over the years. He truly is a star and my best friend 🌟... Onto the next chapter of TGSR
